Description of composition
This drawing depicts a 'lost world silent valley', within a sunken wood
in Craigavad, near Holywood, North Down, Ireland - the Artist's birthplace
and home for many,many years. An area that is always in shadow in the old
wood. The view is looking up the side of that wood towards the edge of the
field above.The ferns, rotting trees and moist vegetation make-up a private and
undisturbed world - and yet a small bird briefly pauses on the end of a
branch..........just a moment in time. |
