Description of composition:
An
evocative seventeenth century tomb with Coat of Arms in quiet, peaceful
St. Mary's Church cemetery, Netherbury, West Dorset - an area in which
the Artist's family lives.
St. Mary's Church, Netherbury is where the Artist's family
worships and contains several memorials to other previous owners of
historic 'Hatchlands'. Is an old rusting lawn roller in the background
illustrative, also, of 'ashes to ashes, dust to dust'?
The broken and worn stonework, as always, has an
ageless quality which the 'dots' only style ideally illustrates. Ivy is
the recent arrival.........the continuity of life in tranquil West Dorset.
