A two month pen, ink and
scalpel blade drawing working by naked eye only, of course. Surely the
'finest' level of 'detail' and 'tonal range'.....?

Description of composition:
A very
precious, small, circular drawing of the ruins of the legendary castle,
perched precariously on a one hundred foot basalt cliff near
Bushmills,Co.Antrim, Ireland. Little is known of the site until the
beginning of the sixteenth century when the castle was in in the
possession of the McQuillan clan who were ousted from it in about 1550 by
the redoubtable Scot, Sorley Boy McDonnell. Banshees have been heard over
the years.
The spectacular ruin was passed to a Government body for protection as
an ancient monument by the 7th Earl of Antrim (McDonnell) in 1928 after
long years of neglect. A magnificent, enigmatic silhouette to a lost
age......
